CUSTOM MANDOLINS
Since 2018, Mike has built his own line of custom mandolins, shown here. Each F-5 mandolin is a faithful Loar replica and is hand-crafted with utmost attention to detail, using only the finest tonewoods and components.
​Mike has studied all the available Loar plans as well as having had access to multiple Loar Mandolins.

F-5, Varnish finish over hand-applied sunburst stain, Adirondack red spruce top, sugar maple 2-piece back and sides. Golden Age tuners. Nickel-plated James tailpiece. 12" radius fretboard with Evo-gold frets. Fully bound with traditional celluloid multi-ply binding. Figured ebony and Macassar ebony headstock veneers.
This was Mike's first build: Rychlik-001 features a one piece maple back and a hand-rubbed sunburst finish. It is in the possession of his son Nicholas.
This mandolin was built in 2018 and features ebony and rosewood plus mother of pearl inlay.
